서울디자인페스티벌은, 월간 DESIGN을 비롯해, 행복이가득한집, LUXURY, STYLE H, Men’s Health, 마이웨딩, 맘앤앙팡을 발행하는 콘텐츠 미디어 전문기업 (주)디자인하우스가 주최하는 디자인전문전시회입니다. 국내 디자인산업의 발전동력이 되고자 35년간 쌓아온 콘텐츠의 힘과 디자이너 네트워크를 기반으로, 역량있는 디자이너를 발굴하고 브랜드의 디자인마케팅 전문성을 강화시키기 위한 전시를 기획한 것이 첫 시작이었습니다.

The Seoul Design Festival is a professional design exhibition hosted by Design House Inc., a contents media company that publishes monthly <DESIGN>, <Home Living & style>, <LUXURY>, <STYLE H>, <Men’s Health>, <My wedding>, and <Mom&Enfant>. The first exhibition was planned to discover competent designers and strengthen the design marketing professionality of brands based on the power of the contents and the designer network built over the past 35 years, with the aim of becoming a development engine for the domestic design industry.

Cradle of star designers, power plant for the design competitiveness of brands

The Seoul Design Festival started in 2002 at the Seoul Arts Center’s Hangaram Design Museum under the theme “Humorous Design.” Since then, the festival continued under various themes: “Star Designer (2003),” “Hot Style (2004),” “Designer Promotion (2005),” “Designer’s Eye (2006),” “Design Seoul (2007),” “Artworks (2008),” “Design for Dinner (2009),” and “Project_ (2010).” The Seoul Design Festival has grown as a global event visited by some 50,000 guests annually including designers, marketers, trend research agencies, and VIPs from cultural circles. Every year, it displays interesting contents e.g., PR booths of designers and brands, , , and . The exhibition has introduced professional companies for the designers, by the designers to buyers and to the general public, mediated collaboration between brands leading design management and designers, and upgraded competitiveness to a level comparable to that of the world by creating high-value-added branding. Furthermore, it has scouted for highly competent designers, empowering them to engage in major activities in various domestic and overseas industrial sectors. After inviting world-class designers, the exhibition has not simply displayed their works but has shown respect for designers focusing on introducing success stories of countries and brands that have collaborated with them, taking the initiative in creating social sympathy for urban design projects.
